The PRX workshop: supply, decimals and mint authority, counted the way the chain counts — and the receipt of what already exists on devnet.
local simulation · no wallet, no network, no transaction
the arithmetic the chain does
base units. This is what the token account stores — not “1,000,000 PRX”.
- arithmetic
- 1000000 × 10^6
- u64 ceiling in this setup
- 18,446,744,073,709 PRX
who can issue more later
With the authority revoked, the supply is the number above and that is it. Nobody mints a new unit — not even you. That is the price of saying “fixed supply”: the decision stops coming back.
decimals are not cents: they define how many places exist — 10^decimals is the size of the grain.
the serious part
The simulation stops at arithmetic. The token did not.
The bench above does the arithmetic and stops: no wallet, no key, no request. Three things that usually slip by here — supply is not a loose number, it is base units inside a u64; the decimals (0 to 9 here) decide the size of the grain and do not round remainders; and the mint authority is a key that keeps opening the door later.
After the simulation came the real step, authorised and on devnet: the first token was born in the wrong order — the mint authority was revoked before the name was registered, and the chain does not go back. That token will never have a name or an icon. It is kept as a study piece, because the mistake teaches more than the success.
The second one was born in the right order: mint, then metadata, then supply, and only then the revocation. That is what is right below, asked of the chain the moment you opened this page — not a screenshot, not a number written in the code.

the seal
Paste an address and the page asks devnet whether that wallet holds at least 1 PRX. No wallet connected, no signature, no seed: it reads what is already public. The address already filled in is the lab wallet, which on purpose has no seal — it only pays fees. In the same round the page counts redemptions: a coupon is a burn, and each burn is read from the chain, not from a register of ours.
a seal proves possession, not identity. PRX is transferable: whoever receives the token inherits the seal. A seal yes, a diploma no — for a certificate that cannot be copied, the chain asks for another kind of token.
what can and cannot be changed
Name, symbol and the image address live in an account separate from the mint and stay editable by whoever holds the update key — that is how this token's name came out wrong and went back right, without touching the mint. Supply, decimals and the token address, those no longer change: changing them would mean another token.
The image itself is not on-chain: it lives at the address the metadata points to, which is why that address can be corrected too. If it goes offline, the name survives (it is on-chain) and the picture does not — a promise of availability, not a guarantee.
PRX is worth zero, it is a devnet experiment and it is not an investment offer — no sentence on this page changes that. Mainnet is not on the route, and no screen in this house asks for your seed phrase. Ever.
